IoT Hackathon at the Microsoft headquarter in Munich empowers our newest project #LemgoDigital

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has sent out a company-wide email some time ago, laying out the future vision and direction of the company moving forward. One sentence was important to me, because Satya said:

Our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.

So I called a friend of mine at Microsoft and described our challenges in our current project called #LemgoDigital. He said “ok, let’s see what Microsoft can do for your team to empower you and your vision!” So we get an invitation to the Microsoft headquarter in Munich (Germany).

With our team at first we did a “design thinking sprint” to find the right solutions and set a focus on what we want to do next. After that we had a great technical workshop for the IoT services we could use in Azure to connect our apps and webservices to the Cloud in a very nice way.
After lunch, we got a guided tour in the new Microsoft building, which was planned and equipped to the latest standards of agile workplace design. From sound-absorbing materials to state-of-the-art equipment, to huge Surface Hub screens, everything was there.

For me it was an amazing experience to work with the people of Microsoft, the Fraunhofer IOSB-INA and my developers from Kommunales Rechenzentrum Minden-Ravensberg/Lippe. Thank you everyone for this great time we had and the great results!
